SSF III at a glance

Somalia Stability Fund III (SSF III) is a multi-donor fund that supports the development of a peaceful, stable, and secure Somalia.

SSF III is a flexible and adaptive programme, which uses interventions to further political dialogue; democratisation and local governance; and conciliation tools to achieve stability goals. SSF III works across all regions of Somalia and at all levels of governance, and is based on a comprehensive understanding of risk and the most up to date evidence.

The SSF III risk-based approach leverages the Compound Risk Assessment Mapping (CRAM) platform, enabling SSF III and its partners to visualize and analyze multiple layers of risk across Somalia. To access the CRAM, click here

Please note that the video seen to the right was created during the second phase of SSF (SSF II). The content reflects the status and scope of that phase and may not represent the current progress or developments. We are now in the third phase of SSF (SSF III).

SSF III supports

SSF III works with partners to respond to locally identified needs and opportunities. These partners include:

  1.  Government entities at the Federal Government of Somalia level and in all of the Federal Member States and Banadir Regional Administration.
  2. Non-government partners – consortia delivering on thematic areas throughout the lifecycle of the Fund.
  3. Partners contracted for one-off initiatives.

SSF III has adopted a role as an integrator, going beyond traditional coordination methods. This approach enables development partners to consolidate resources and collaboratively design a realistic and sustainable strategy for long-term impact.
